I am 20 years old. I am currently going to University of Cincinnati to major in English. I have been an avid reader since I began reading at a very young age. I have decided to take up reviewing as a hobby and to never sell out! My biggest dream as of right now would be to become a very well-known published author. Keeping my fingers crossed. Do not be afraid to email me @ CassandraRichards25@gmail.com if you have any questions or if you would like for me to review your book! :D

The Lust Garden by Billy Jolie

The Lust Garden is a mixture of stories from a wide range of characters with different points a view that all complimented the main plot almost suductively. In this book you meet a whole different world of the rich and the famous. The secret world, and the realistic one were put together charmingly.

Gianna Salvani was born with a spoon in her mouth, and is the American's Sweetheart. She is already famous as is, but craves the attentions modestly. She wants to be taken seriously, and the best way for any actress to succeed this is to put out a music album. She has so much for going for her, but she seems so be hitting so many road blocks and so much is holding her back. Cue in obsessive serial killer that is out to claim, Miss Salvani. Mr. Serial Killer has a secret he has been hiding from the world. Very dark, terrible secrets, and the Lion plans on punishing Gianna for those crimes commited against him.

The Lust Garden is such a dark and beautiful book. The stories were creative and original and the plot was realistic. My most favorite part of this whole dark tale is the way Mr. Jolie was able to get into the serial killers mind and protray him to dark, and vulnerable while still be intimidating. It was so realistic and deep that I had chills running down my back just by reading the Lion's point of view. Mr. Jolie was so graphic and so descriptive, I felt like I was actually there on both sides as the Lamb and as the Lion. It was breath-taking and very real to me. Usually I hate rape scenes, but these were different. These were from his point of view his way of keeping himself afloat and fresh for his real mission. For Gianna. Now enough about that beautiful character, on to Gianna.

Gianna was such your clique pop star character at first that I hated her until she starts to change and grow up through out the book. At first I wanted to strangle this whinny little blonde girl, and the next thing I know, I began feeling bad for her. Gianna has a secret and its not a pretty one, next thing you know here comes a reporter aiming to break her down and begin to try to tear her world apart. The problem with the point of view of the reporter is that it doesn't really end. You never get to find out some information and if she ever did publish the story. This kind of irked me a tiny bit. I wanted to find out how side of the story played out. Another little thing I wish I got to see more of is the Serial Killer (should I be worried that my favorite character of ALL TIME is a serial killer? Probably.) ending. How did he walk away from that? Different? I just wish I would have seen that. And also it would have been interesting seeing the police's point of view by trying to see who did it every now and then.

Overall: The stories in this book was so raw and controversial. Controversial situations and characters makes, to me, a brilliant book and an amazing author. This was a terrific read.

I very much reccomend this book to any one who actually enjoys a good mystery with original, controversial situations and characters.

Cover: This is what caught my attention. I love the blood smeared on her face and the way she is looking at the camera/reader. Beautiful.
